Retire your site
If your Site Builder site is no longer needed, you can request that it be retired. Depending on your needs, you can either retire the site completely or replace it with a new site and redirect visitors to the new URL.
Before submitting a retirement request, keep the following in mind:
Eligibility
- Only the Site Steward can submit a retirement request.
- Review the Retire your IU Website article in the IU Knowledge Base before getting started.
Archiving
- Your site's published content will be archived and provided to you as a ZIP file.
- Your site will still be accessible in the WCMS in a read-only state for up to one year after retirement.
Redirects
- If you are replacing your site, you can request redirects to the new website.
- Redirects are available only for IU websites and are typically removed after six months.
